Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Social Studio ("the Service"), an Obsidian plugin for cross-platform content publishing, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Social Studio is an Obsidian plugin that enables users to preview and publish markdown notes to multiple social media platforms, including WeChat Official Account, YouTube, Bilibili, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, Xiaohongshu, and other supported platforms.

3. User Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the content you publish through the Service.
• You must comply with the terms of service and community guidelines of each target platform.
• You must not use the Service to publish content that violates applicable laws or platform policies.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your platform credentials and API tokens.
• You must respect intellectual property rights when publishing content through the Service.

4. Authentication and Data Handling

• The Service uses OAuth2 and platform-specific authentication methods to access third-party APIs on your behalf.
• Your credentials and tokens are stored locally in Obsidian's encrypted SecretStorage and are never transmitted to any server controlled by the Service developers.
• The Service does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any third party.
• PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) is used for TikTok OAuth2 to enhance security.

5. TikTok Integration

• The TikTok integration uses TikTok Login Kit for OAuth2 authorization and TikTok Content Posting API for video publishing.
• Before publishing a video to TikTok, the Service displays a confirmation modal showing creator information, privacy level options, interaction controls, and commercial content declaration, in compliance with TikTok's Content Sharing Guidelines.
• You are responsible for selecting the appropriate privacy level, interaction settings, and commercial content disclosure for each video you publish.
• The Service transmits video files, titles, privacy settings, interaction settings, and commercial content declarations to TikTok's API for the sole purpose of publishing your content.
• You must comply with TikTok's Developer Guidelines, Community Guidelines, and Branded Content Policy when using the TikTok integration.
• The Service does not post content to TikTok without your explicit confirmation through the pre-publish modal.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the content you create and publish through the Service. The Service itself is open-source software released under the MIT License.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or that publication to any platform will always succeed. Platform APIs may change without notice, which may affect the Service's ability to publish to specific platforms.

8. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to content loss, platform account suspension, or API access revocation.

9. Third-Platform Policies

Each platform you publish to has its own terms of service, community guidelines, and API usage policies. You are responsible for understanding and complying with these policies. The Service facilitates publishing but does not guarantee compliance with platform-specific requirements.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
